A floral newborn session is one of the most popular set-ups in my Warsaw studio. Delicate flowers, natural fabrics and warm boho colours make the photos radiate warmth. In this post I show what such a session looks like and how to prepare for it.

Flowers in the studio all year round
In my studio it is spring all year round. I have whole shelves of high-quality artificial flowers, from which we can conjure up a summer meadow even in winter. In season, I also use fresh flowers. If you have favourites of your own, we can include them in the plans.
A boho corner for newborn and family sessions
A floral newborn session goes beautifully with boho. That is why I have a corner set up in this style in the studio. Accessories with this feel make the photos a special keepsake of your baby’s first days. What is more, the same corner works wonderfully for photos with parents and siblings.

Clothes, wraps and flower crowns for your baby
You don’t need to worry about clothes for your newborn, because I take care of that. I also have a large choice of fabrics, wraps and baby clothes that look beautiful together in a gallery. For girls there are also lovely flower crowns and headbands.
Floral newborn session — what should parents wear?
If you are taking part in the photos, bring clothes for yourselves and for the siblings. Browns, whites and blues look best. Above all, though, it is important that you match each other as a whole family. Then the photos are harmonious and a pleasure to look at for a long time.

A milk and flower bath
For those who would like it, I also have an oval bathtub in which we take photos in milk and flowers. A bath like this is a lovely end to a newborn session and a moment of relaxation for mum. It is a paid add-on at PLN 500. You can read more in the post milk and flower bath session.
When to book the session and how much does it cost?
We usually do newborn sessions between days 5 and 14 of life, and the studio is heated to 26°C. The Standard package costs PLN 1,200 (12 photos), and the Maxi package PLN 2,000 (20 photos and a photo album I design myself). The turnaround time is about 3–4 weeks.
You will find the full offer on the newborn session in Warsaw page. You can book a date via the contact form, ideally while you are still pregnant. I share more floral shots on Instagram.
Floral newborn session — frequently asked questions
What should we bring to a newborn session?
Clothes and accessories are waiting in the studio. Bring milk, spare nappies (approx. 5–6), wet wipes, muslin cloths, a blanket for swaddling during breaks and a dummy if you use one.
How long does a newborn session take?
Usually from 1.5 to about 3 hours. I always adapt the time to the baby’s needs, because sometimes they need longer at mum’s breast or to settle to sleep.
Does the session take place in the studio?
Yes, I do newborn sessions in the studio only. The cosy flat is warm and has a bathroom, a changing table and a kettle for warming milk.
