Birthday Photo Session in Warsaw

A birthday photo session takes place in the studio. I provide all the accessories you need: clothes for the child and mum, Matchy Matchy dresses, headbands and flowers, blocks and banners reading “ROK” (“year”), all kinds of number ones, photogenic toys, dummy birthday cakes, and even a little bathtub for a real bath with rubber ducks during the birthday session.

The studio is warm and cosy — it is a small space, so children should not feel shy for long. It is colourful and cheerful, with colourful toys and fun distractions waiting. Children feel very comfortable and safe here and quickly come out of their shell. As a photographer I am very patient — clients say I have a kind, warm voice, so children quickly make friends with me. Sometimes I bend over backwards to catch their loveliest smile.

A birthday session — for the first birthday or a later one — goes in a similar way. Before the session we agree what kind of photos you like: colourful and lavish with flowers or balloons, simpler and minimalist, or perhaps in boho style. Each session can include more than one set-up. Usually we do, for example, a boho scene for family photos, a scene with flowers or balloons for photos of your child alone, and a bathtub scene — a bath with flowers, fruit or rubber ducks. When you arrive at the studio, you see what I have prepared for you, we lay out the clothes in order, and meanwhile your child gets used to the place. Then we change and start taking photos.

A session usually takes about an hour, to hold the child's attention. If a longer settling-in time or a snack break is needed, it may take longer. I always adapt the length of the session to your little one's needs.

I provide outfits for mum and the child, and we will certainly find matching dresses for older sisters. For dad and older brothers it is worth bringing clothes that suit the set-ups we agree on — e.g. light trousers and light shirts or T-shirts for the boho scene. We will agree the details before the session.

About 2 weeks after the session I send you photos to choose from. You choose your favourite set and I prepare it for printing. The photos are lightly retouched so that you look lovely and natural, not overdone. Once you approve them, the photos are printed and sent to you in a box by courier. We can also prepare a photo album, a concertina photo book and various other photo keepsakes — you can see them in the studio during your session.

Yes — because you only have one first birthday. It is the first time your child blows out (or tries to blow out) their very first candle, sees their own little cake or their first present. In the studio I will capture it in photos that will stay with you for years to come, and you will surely look back on these moments with joy and emotion.
