Newborn session in my Warsaw studio

The best time for a newborn session is the second week after your baby is born. After the first week a newborn can usually feed well, sleeps deeply and lets me settle them into typical newborn poses. With every week that follows, the newborn becomes more active and no longer sleeps as deeply, and the first tummy aches and rashes may appear, so the session will no longer be as easy and pleasant an experience as it is earlier on.

A newborn session in the studio usually takes from 1.5 hours up to about 3 hours for the larger packages. Sometimes a baby has an off day and needs more time at mum's breast or longer to settle to sleep, but we usually stay within 3 hours. I adapt the length of the session to your baby's needs, and sometimes to the needs of older siblings.

In my newborn photography studio you will find all the outfits and accessories your newborn needs — I have a well-stocked wardrobe. From you we need: milk in whatever form you use; a supply of nappies (approx. 5–6); wet wipes; muslin cloths for wiping your baby's face; a blanket for swaddling between shots; a dummy, if you use one or plan to — sometimes giving it even for a moment lets us finish the photos without another break.

To get lovely, coordinated looks, think about clothes that go well together. I recommend light colours — your baby, cuddled up to you, will be beautifully lit. If you love black-and-white newborn photography, you can also bring darker outfits. What works best: light shirts and plain trousers for dads, a light blouse or dress for mum (textures such as lace look lovely), a light plain T-shirt and plain trousers for an older brother, a light dress or top with a plain bottom for a little sister.

Yes, absolutely. My Warsaw studio is in a flat in Warsaw set up specially for this purpose. It is cosy and warm, with a bathroom with space for doing make-up, a changing table and a kettle for warming your baby's milk. You can feel right at home.

Newborn sessions take place only in my studio in Warsaw. I cannot travel to clients because of the large size of the equipment needed — the wraps, props, backdrops and lighting provide a level of safety and quality that cannot be moved.

The photos take approx. 3–4 weeks to complete, and up to 5 weeks with a photo album. You receive from me only finished photographs, polished in every detail — I do not hand over unretouched photos or RAW files.

Write to me via the contact form and give me your approximate due date — I will reserve a flexible window in the first two weeks after the birth. After the birth we agree the exact day. It is worth writing while you are still pregnant, so as not to miss the best time for the session.
