Black and white maternity session — over the past year, this kind of photography has been a real hit in my studio. I really love this style, because it lets me focus on the model and show her in beautiful light, without unnecessary extras.
Wardrobe for a black and white maternity session
In the studio I have a large wardrobe of outfits that suit this kind of photo. So we have black maternity dresses, black maternity bodysuits in various versions — lace and plain — as well as a range of robes that let you show off your bump, and simple fabrics as a backdrop for the maternity session. For bold mums who are proud of their pregnancy figure, nude photos are also possible, where the model is dressed only in light and shadow 🙂

Below I will show you a few black and white photos taken in my studio in Warsaw. All the outfits shown are available for photos in the studio.

Photos 1 and 2: black maternity bodysuit with a ruffle
The black bodysuit with a decorative ruffle is probably the hardest-working outfit in my studio. It allows for spectacular shots — sitting, standing, and also high-contrast ones with less light.

Photo 4: black fabric as a backdrop for a maternity session
For maternity photos with flowing fabric, we need an assistant. So if you are coming with your partner, warn him that he has a bit of work ahead, fanning the fabric for you. If, however, we meet without the dad-to-be, we will ask for help from my make-up artist friend, who will get you ready for the photos beforehand.

Black and white maternity session — not just black
Black and white maternity sessions are, of course, not only about black dresses. We can also play with white and other colours, which gives us different shades of grey.

My newest toy in the studio is a set of photo boxes, in white and black. They give lots of scope for posing.

These and many more maternity outfits are waiting for you for photos in the studio. Add professional make-up and hair — and we have a recipe for success: a beautiful keepsake of this special time, for life!
